As on this Android Fairphone:
2) Importing to Google Calendar on a PC
You can use a PC to access Google Calendar and import an ics file output from Organizer.
Save the Diary dates in Organizer you want to input to Google Calendar in the same way as above.
Remember to add the suffix "/ics" when you name the file, eg "April21/ics".
You can save from Organizer on VRPC or RPCEmu in a directory accessible to Windows.
Or email the file to the PC and store somewhere accessible.
Load Google Calendar on your PC.
Click on "+" next to Other calendars.
Select the Calendar into which you want to import the file.
Click on "Select file from your computer".
A Windows Explorer window comes up. Navigate to the ics file.
Select the file and click "Open".
Click "Import".
3) Importing Organizer Diary data to an Android Phone
To import a single event:
In Organizer, after you enter the event in the Diary, middle-click on it.
Select "Alarms/Save as iCal" and save to a directory.
Send an email to your Phone with the iCal file attached.
If it is a Gmail address, open the email.
Click "Add to Calendar" to add it to your Google Calendar.
NB It will only add it to your main calendar, if you have added others.
If it is not a Gmail email address, open the email and click "Open".
Click "Add to Calendar".
To save multiple Diary entries from Organizer on an Android phone
Save the range of dates you want in Organizer (using the iCal-Jeroen2 format).
Email the file to your Android phone.
Open the email and save the file to your phone.
To import it you will need the app Calendar Import-Export from the Play Store.
Load Calendar Import-Export.
The Organizer file should be at the bottom of the screen.
Click "Import file".
The data will be added to your Googe Calendar on all devices.
Exporting from Google Calendar to Organizer
You can only export whole calendars from Google Calendar, not a range of dates.
This is one reason it is better to use Organizer for your primary data input.
However, it is relatively easy to export single events, eg from an Android phone.
When you input an event in Google Calendar you can "Add Guests".
Input an email address to send it to your RISC OS machine.
When you click on "Save", it will ask you if you want to send an email to the guest.
Click "Send".
When the email arrives on your RO platform, save the "invite.ics" file.
You will need to change the file type to vCalendr (the file type in RISC OS).
Middle-click on the "invite/ics" file.
Go to File/Set Type and change "data" to "vCalendr".
Then drop it on to organizer to add it to your Diary.
